Karachi: Rangers foil terror plot against agencies
KARACHI: The Sindh Rangers on Monday claimed to have foiled a big terror plot and arrested two suspected Tehreek-e-Taliban militants from PECHS. The paramilitary force said a huge cache of explosive materials were recovered from the suspects. The Rangers raided a house in PECHS Block-2 and arrested the ‘militants’. During a search of the house, the soldiers seized 10 bags — weighing about 40 kilograms each — of ammonium nitrate, three drums (25 to 30kg) of hydrogen peroxide and two boxes of metals.
Sources said the material was transported from Hub to Karachi for terror activities. They added that similar materials were used in the 7/7 London bombings. During the initial interrogation, the suspects disclosed that they were going to use the explosives in a blast targeting investigation agencies.
