Islamabad: 2 car-snatchers arrested red-handed from G-9/1
ISLAMABAD: Patrolmen of the Margalla Police Station foiled a car–snatching attempt and arrested two men red–handed when they were trying to snatch a car in Sector G-9/1 at gunpoint, police said. Following directions from SP (Saddar) Jameel Hashmi to his subordinates for strict vigilance and patrolling, a special team of the Margalla Police Station, including Sub–Inspector Niaz Jafferi, Head Constable Ziaullah Bajwa and Driver Muhammad Aslam, was on patrol when they observed two men and suspected their activities.
The police team kept monitoring them and saw that they went near a Toyota Corolla car (JZ–4310) and tried to snatch it at gunpoint.
The policemen rushed to the scene and Head Constable Ziaullah Bajwa succeeded in overpowering both of them besides recovering two 30–bore pistols from them. They have been identified as Kashif Khan, son of Kifayatullah, and Abbas Khan, son of Anwar Khan, residents of Nowshera.
The arrested men confessed to their involvement in various car–snatching incidents. Further investigation is underway.
SP (Saddar) Jameel Hashmi has appreciated the performance of the officials and awarded cash prizes and commendation certificates to the members of the police team.
