Alleged swindler arrested in Mansehra
MANSEHRA: The police have arrested a man who allegedly deceived many people in the name of employment and travel abroad. Sardar Khan, the deputy superintendent of police (DSP), told a press conference on Sunday that the police arrested the man who, posing himself as son and brother of government officers and politicians, received huge money from people “to send them abroad or provide them jobs at high posts.”
The DSP, flanked by Station House Officer of the City Police Station Muhammad Amjad, stated that Muhammad Bilal, staying at a local hotel, cheated many people and received money from them and detail of this was being gathered.
The official said the accused was involved in six cases of fraud, kidnapping and theft. He said the accused, who declared himself to be the son of former chief minister Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan, had also kidnapped the daughter of a doctor and stole gold ornaments and cash in the past.
He said that Bilal was arrested on the complaint of an hotelier who accused him of leaving the hotel after receiving money from people and without paying the hotel charges for 20 days. The accused was also produced before media men at the City Police Station.
Giving details of another crime, Sardar Khan said that on a tip-off the City Police have also arrested a narcotics peddler and recovered 4kg charas from him. He said the accused Mushtaq Khan, hailing from Hazro area, was smuggling the narcotics from Peshawar to other parts of the province when the police intercepted his vehicle and seized the contraband.
