Mansehra: Man accused of attacking NGOs staff held
MANSEHRA: The Anti–Terrorist Squad has arrested a man allegedly involved in attacks on the office of Plan International and World Vision and killing their staff members. The squad, led by sub–inspectors Mohammad Ihtesham and Zia Ahmad, arrested Mohammad Amjad in Nawansher area.
Mohammad Amjad was wanted in many cases, two of them were high profile in which the accused attacked UK charity organisation Plan International in 2009 and American organisation World Vision in 2010.
At least 13 men and women staffers of both international NGOs were killed in the attacks. The accused also allegedly killed three men in a single attack in Badra last year and was also wanted in many other cases.
Mohammad Arshad alias Taliban, who was stated to be mastermind of attacks on World Vision and Plan International and a close aide of the accused, had been killed last year in Pulrah area. Meanwhile, DSP Mohammad Tariq and SHO City Mubarak Khan, while speaking to media, confirmed the arrest of Mohammad Amjad.
