Peshawar: Police display seized explosive material
PESHAWAR: The city police on Thursday displayed to the media the explosives they had seized the previous day from a car on the Frontier Road.
The exhibited material included 100kg explosives, 600 meters prima cord and 800 detonators. Superintendent of Police (SP) Rural, Shafiuallah Khan, told reporters that the city police had foiled a major terror bid in the city after seizing the explosives laden car.
He said acting on a tip-off, the Capital City Police Officer, Liaqat Ali Khan, formed a team under the supervision of SP Operation Imran Shahid, SP Rural Shafiuallah and others for the search operation.
The official said the police succeeded in seizing the explosives laden car bearing registration number 3563 and arrested two terror suspects including Anar Gul and Kifayat on the spot in the limits of Matani police station. He said that first information report was registered against the arrested terror suspects.
