226 outlaws arrested in federal capital
ISLAMABAD: Police, during first seven months of the current year, arrested 226 accused involved in street crimes and recovered 160 snatched mobile phones and looted cash from their possession, a police spokesman said. During this drive, the spokesman said that capital police also obtained the record of those persons who had ever remained involved in street crimes to observe their activities and arrested a total of 226 criminals involved in such nature of crime.
According to a press note issued from office of SSP Islamabad Muhammad Rizwan, the SSP has directed all sub–divisional police officers (SDPOs) and station house officers (SHOs) to ensure effective patrolling in their jurisdictions and take stern action against the anti–social elements. During this year, Islamabad Police also arrested 104 gamblers during various raids in the city and recovered stake money and other items worth hundreds of thousands of rupees from them.
SSP Rizwan has also directed to ensure vigilance against the suspects and make effective checking at all entry and exit points of the city. “It is our prime responsibility to ensure protection to the lives and property of the citizens.
Those police officials involved in dereliction of duties or adopting sluggish attitude would not be spared and strict disciplinary action would be taken against them,” the SSP maintained.
