33 gamblers arrested in Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Police have busted three gambling dens and arrested 33 accused with Rs 337,380 stake money, 28 mobile phones and other items. The police have been conducting raids against anti-social elements on the directives of City Police Officer (CPO).
According to a spokesman, Ratta Amral police acting on a tip-off raided a place and arrested nine gamblers namely Tufail, Hamas, Yasir, Tanveer, Akhtar, Amanat, Dawood, Shafique and Organzaib.
The police recovered Rs 15,360 stake money and six mobile phones. Sadiqabad police arrested seven accused identified as Arsh Rizwan, Babar, Ashraf, Munir, Tahir and Muhammad Babar with Rs 22,000 stake money and five mobile phones.
Meanwhile, Wah cantt police raided a gambling den and held Rafi, Liaquat, Nazakat, Zafar, Zahid, Javed, Aftab, Aamir, Liaquat, Asad, Asif, Naeem, Adeel, Ishaq, Arif, Farman and Muhammad Asif with Rs 300,000 stake money and 17 mobile phones.
