275 suspects arrested in KP
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police on Thursday conducted targeted operations against anti–state elements and arrested as many as 275 suspicious persons along with heavy ammunition, explosives and drugs.
A police spokesman said that the operations had been conducted across the province and police teams seized 26 AK-47 rifles, 13 Kalashnikov rifles, 61 other rifles, 444 pistols, 4,872 bullets, 200 grammes of explosive material, 23 kilogramme of hashish and 40 bottles of liquor.
Cases were registered against the arrested persons under various sections, the spokesman said. Meanwhile, Hangu police, in collaboration with security forces, conducted an operation in the Kandu Kalay area on terrorist Daraman’s house and arrested 12 people. The police also seized seven grenades, a landmine, six AK-47 rifles and 1,000 rounds from the arrested terrorists.
