Gujranwala: 2 cops among 3 booked for graft
GUJRANWALA: On the orders of the Anti–Corruption Establishment director, cases have been registered against two policemen and a union council secretary on the charge of receiving bribe.
Zafarullah of Wazirabad, in a complaint, stated that ASI M Yaqoob of Alipur Chattha had received Rs 100,000 to challan the accused of an attempt to murder case, but did not challan them. ACE Deputy Director Ilyas Gill held an inquiry and found the cop guilty.
Ghafoor complained that SI Nasir Ahmed of Sialkot City police had received Rs 5,000 for discharging a quarrel case, but did nothing in this regard. The Sialkot ACE circle officer found charges true during the inquiry. Ghulam Muhammad complained that his son Zulfiqar with the connivance of Budha Goraya Union Council Secretary Iftikhar got a bogus death certificate of his wife Sakina Bibi to usurp her property. Gujranwala ACE Circle Officer Rana Nawaz probed the matter and found the accused guilty.
