Karachi: Rangers arrest 35 more suspects
KARACHI: Rangers arrested 35 suspects in targeted operations in different parts of the city on Wednesday. A Rangers official said the arrested men included target killers, extortionists, and drug peddlers.
“Rangers personnel accompanied by police carried out search operations in Paposh Nagar, North Nazimabad, Saddar, Liquatabad, Lyari, PNT Colony Chakiwara, Kharadar, and Garden,” the official said. “Weapons and ammunition were seized in the raids.”
Giving details, the official said Rangers raided the house of People’s Aman Committee chief Uzair Baloch in Singo Lane, Lyari and arrested three criminals. A Kalashnikov, three TT pistols, a rifle, a dagger, 25 kilograms of hashish and bullets were seized in the raid.”
In another raid, the paramilitary force arrested three gangsters in Baghdadi, Lyari and seized a Kalashnikov, three 9MM pistols, and six snatched motorcycles. The official said the gangsters were involved in more than six target killings.
The Rangers conducted a door-to-door search operation in Lyari late at night and arrested former town nazim Malik Fayaz. However, sources said Fayaz was later released. During the operation, the Rangers removed the barriers set up in area.
