Karachi: Nato arms seized from Zamzama shop
KARACHI: The Clifton police on Thursday raided an arms shop in Zamzama and recovered huge quantity of weapons and ammunition meant for Nato forces in Afghanistan.
According to the police, a contingent of police force raided the arms shop of Zahid Motiwala in posh Defence area in Clifton police limits and recovered 127MM rifles, 399MM pistols, 24 shotguns, a number of hand grenades and over 4,000 live bullets from there.
These arms were said to be stolen from the Nato containers. Clifton SHO Kenson Dean said all the seized arms were US–made. He said he was unsure if the weapons were for Nato forces. Motiwala is still at large, added the SHO.
The police had raided the same shop on Wednesday and recovered rocket launchers from the shop.
