Karachi: 138 nabbed by Rangers, police
KARACHI: Rangers and police claim to have held 138 suspects during separate targeted raids and operations across the city on Tuesday. Rangers’ spokesperson said that their personnel apprehended 19 notorious criminals in various targeted raids in Chanesar Goth, Shah Faisal Colony, Green Town, Rasheedabad, Dawood Shaora Goth, Taiser Town, North Karachi, Quaid-e-Azam and North Nazimabad areas.
He also claims to have recovered weapons from the custody of the detainees. During the operation, the entire localities were cordoned and nobody was allowed entry or exit. Arrests were made during door-to-door search operation. A large number of Rangers personnel participated in the operation, including the women’s wing. The spokesman said that snap checking was also carried out in different parts of the city including Clifton, Baloch Colony flyover and Water Pump Chowrangi. Moreover, police claim to have apprehended around 119 suspects during 95 raids in the city. According to Sindh police spokesperson, 119 criminals including 15 absconders, 29 under arms ordinance, 30 under narcotics ordinance, 12 robbers, 3 murderers, five kidnappers and one extortionist were detained from across the city. At least 52 illegal arms and weapons, two bombs and narcotics were also recovered from the possession of detainees.
