Rawalpindi: ANF recovers 227kg charas, nabs 2 drug traffickers
RAWALPINDI: The Anti–Narcotics Force (ANF), Rawalpindi, recovered 227 kilograms of charas and 26 kilograms of opium and arrested 2 drug traffickers.
On Thursday early in the morning, the ANF imposed surprise spot-check at GT Road near Kohinoor Mills. Meanwhile, a Bedford truck, bearing registration number RIN-2675, reached the spot–check site. Initial inquiry could not satisfy ANF team; so a detailed search of the vehicle was carried out. Consequently, 227 kilograms of charas and 26 kilograms of opium of fine quality were recovered from secret cavities of the truck. Two men, namely Muhammad Nazar Awan, son of Faqeer Muhammad, resident of Pahal, Chinari, Hatyan, district Muzafarabad, AJK, and Ehsan Ullah, son of Sawab Gul, resident of Bara Banda, Risalpur, tehsil & district Nowshera, were arrested. An FIR has been lodged against the culprits at the ANF Police Station. Further investigation is underway.
