187 suspects arrested from different areas of Karachi
KARACHI: Law enforcers claimed to have held around 187 suspects during separate raids and operations across the city on Sunday.
In the first happening, Rangers detained around 27 suspects during targeted raids in Orangi Town, Joria Bazaar, Green Town, FC Area, Landhi, Ramswami, Abul Hassan Asphani Road, Habib Bank Chowrangi areas Aansu Goth and Jumma Goth.
Rangers’ spokesperson said weapons were also recovered from the possession of few suspects. They were shifted to an undisclosed location for further questioning.
Similarly, Boat Basin police conducted a targeted raid in a residential apartment in Clifton, and nabbed a suspected criminal. The suspect was identified as Ghulam Rasool, a wanted criminal involved in a number of criminal cases.
The police also apprehended around 134 suspected criminals during 84 targeted raids across the city. The arrested persons included 55 absconders, 24 under Arms Ordinance, 16 under Narcotics Ordinance, 11 robbers, three kidnappers and one extortionist. Sindh police’s spokesman said 44 weapons, five grenades, and narcotics were also recovered.
Separately, around 18 suspects were detained after search operations in Sohrab Goth, Bismillah Market and Janjal Goth areas. Weapons were also found from their custody.
The police took seven more suspects into detention from Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Ayub Goth, Rajput Colony, and Baksh Ali Goth. Five motorcycles and narcotics were seized.
