Karachi: 111 more suspects held in targeted operations
KARACHI: The Rangers personnel conducted raids in various parts of the city and rounded up 21 suspects, including some wanted target killers and extortionists, along with the recovery of huge cache of weapons on Wednesday morning.
The East and South zones police also arrested 90 suspects. According to the Rangers spokesman, the personnel conducted targeted operations in Old Sabzi Mandi, Phool Patti Lane, Lyari, Kharadar, Zia Colony’s Sector-8, Raja Tanveer Colony, Baldia Town, Jamshed Road, Sanober Heights, Metroville, SITE, Noor Mohammed Goth, Khokhrapar and Ali Brohi Goth areas in the wee hours.
They also carried out snap- checking at Punjabi Club Jamat Khana in Kharadar and Khadda Market of DHA. During the crackdown, the raiding teams arrested 21 notorious criminals, including alleged target killers and extortionists belonging to Lyari gang war and political groups. They also seized light machine guns, sub–machine guns and other weapons from their possession.
The Rangers also raided Millennium Mall area and after some resistance arrested notorious target killer Azhar alias Lamba along with weapons.
Meanwhile, the East Range police arrested 62 criminals including two proclaimed absconders, 30 absconders and seven suspects, and recovered seven pistols, a rifle, 27 rounds, 2330 grams of hashish, cellphones and snatched or stolen car and motorcycles from them.
The South Zone police arrested 28 suspects, including 17 absconders, an extortionist and a suspect, and seized five pistols, 820 grams of hashish and looted amount of Rs 1,000 and a motorcycle.
