Islamabad: 186 outlaws held, weapons, narcotics recovered
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad police have arrested 186 people during the last week for their alleged involvement in various crimes and recovered 121 wine bottles, four–kilogramme hashish, two-kilogramme opium, seven vehicles, five bikes, 17 pistols and fake currency from them.
Islamabad IGP Sikandar Hayat directed all heads of police stations to curb crime and take action against anti-social elements. He ordered a crackdown on proclaimed offenders and court absconders.
The Islamabad police have arrested 19 absconders while 15 vehicles with bogus registration numbers were impounded.
The police have registered 68 cases and recovered looted items worth hundreds of thousands of rupees. The IGP said the Islamabad police force was committed to providing foolproof security to citizens.
