5 kg of heroin recovered in Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI: The Airport Security Force (ASF) has recovered about five kilogrammes of heroin from a female foreigner, being transported to Ethiopia via Doha by Qatar Airline, in the wee hours of Sunday, the ASF sources said.
Ms Awaleena, wife of Frances Michael, resident of House No.8, Street 35, Hussain Street, Lahore, bearing Passport No. 1602751, was intercepted by the ASF at about 3am when she entered the passenger’s lounge. The ASF staff scanned her baggage and found some suspicious stuff in secret parts of the luggage, the ASF sources said and added that her baggage was taken aside and checked thoroughly.
The sources said that during the search of the luggage, about 5 kilogrammes of heroin was recovered from different specially made cavities in the baggage. The ANF arrested the woman drug trafficker and handed her over to the Anti–Narcotics Force (ANF) for interrogation.
