Karachi: 91 held; weapons, drugs seized
KARACHI: The city police conducted raids in various parts of the city and arrested 91 suspects, allegedly involved in target killing and street crime cases, and recovered weapons and drugs from their possession on Wednesday.
According to the spokesman for West Range police, the personnel conducted raids and arrested 54 suspects for their alleged involvement in target killing and street crime cases, and recovered two revolvers, nine pistols, one dagger, 320 grams of hashish, three cellphones, cash and two motorcycles from their possession.
The East Range police said they arrested 31 suspects along with the recovery of eight pistols, one revolver with 29 rounds, 350 grams of hashish, Rs 3,500 cash, four bottles of wine and a motorcycle. They were wanted by the police in street crime and drug peddling cases.
Meanwhile, the Chakiwara police arrested six alleged street criminals after a brief encounter in Singo Lane area. They were identified as Ghulab Shah, Abdus Salam, Abdul Rehman, Shan, Ijaz and Babar, as the police claimed to have recovered weapons and looted items including cellphones and a motorcycle from their possession.
