128 nabbed by LEAs in Karachi
KARACHI: Law enforcers claimed to have apprehended around 128 suspects during separate targeted raids and operations across the city on Thursday.
According to sources, extra contingent of Rangers conducted a raid at Uzair Baloch’s residence in Lyari’s Singhu Lane area; however, they returned empty handed, and Baloch, chief of the outlawed People’s Aman Committee remains at large.
Separately, Rangers arrested 29 alleged criminals during targeted raids in various parts of the city, including Singhu Lane area in Lyari, Liaquatabad, Jutt Lines, Burns Road, Bilal Colony, Khuda ki Basti, Orangi Town, Al Falah Colony, Landhi, Angara Goth, Shar Goth, Pehlwan Goth, Korangi Town and Rafa-e-Aam Society.
Snap checking was also carried out on Lyari Express Way and Old Muzaffarabad Colony areas. According to Rangers’ spokesperson, during the raids and snap checking, 29 hardened criminals including Lyari gangsters and men affiliated with political groups were arrested. Rangers also recovered weapons, including hand grenades from the suspects’ possession.
Meanwhile, Karachi police during 68 raids and seven encounters arrested 99 alleged criminals, including 37 absconders. According to Sindh police spokesman, 32 weapons of different calibres, including 17 illicit arms were also recovered from the possession of suspects.
