Islamabad: 2 gangs of burglars, auto thieves busted
ISLAMABAD: The Ramna and Golra police stations have busted two gangs of auto–thieves and burglars besides recovering stolen items worth Rs2.65 million, gold ornaments, a laptop, seven stolen motorbikes and other electronic equipment from them, the police spokesman said on Thursday.
According to details, SP (Saddar Zone) Jameel Ahmed Hashmi constituted special teams headed by SHOs Golra and Ramana police station which also included ASIs Muhammad Iqbal, Muhammad Niaz and others. These teams were assigned the task to ensure arrest of auto–thieves and burglars at the earliest as some complaints of motorbike theft and burglaries were received. Ramana police succeeded to bust a gang involved in theft of motorbikes and recovered seven motorbikes from them. These auto–thieves have been identified as Yasir, Aaqib and Kashif Masih residents of Islamabad who confessed their involvement in stealing motorbikes from areas of
Margallah and Ramana police stations. Golra police busted another gang of burglars besides recovering gold ornaments, laptop, LCDs, televisions, imported cloth, pistol and stolen items worth Rs2.65 million.
The nabbed persons have been identified as Asif, Altaf Hussain, Imran, Iqbal and Hakmeen Khan. Further investigation is underway from them and police team is hopeful for more recovery from them.
