2 extortionists held in Nowshera
NOWSHERA: The police arrested two extortionists and recovered two mobile sets and 15 SIM cards from their possessions, sources said on Tuesday.
The sources said Umar Hussain registered a case at the Pabbi Police Station complaining that he was receiving phone calls from Taliban demanding money. He said that the callers had threatened him of dire consequences.
The police arrested Usman Ali and Obaidullah. During the interrogation, the sources said, the accused confessed to have made threatening calls to the people. They confessed that they had received extortion money from people in Islamabad and Punjab. “We had to repay the loans which we had borrowed from other people,” the sources quoted one of the accused as telling the police.
