Islamabad Police arrest 230 outlaws, 102 absconders in 2 weeks
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police have arrested 230 outlaws and 102 absconders allegedly involved in heinous crime cases during last two weeks, and recovered heavy quantity of liquor, hashish, opium, vehicles, bikes arms and ammunition and fake currency from their possession, a police spokesman said on Sunday.
IGP Islamabad Sikandar Hayat directed all heads of police stations for effective steps to curb activities of criminal elements. He also ordered for crackdown against proclaimed offenders and court absconders.
Following his directions, efforts were expedite for effective policing and remarkable success was achieved during last two weeks.
In crackdown against absconders, Islamabad Police arrested 102 absconders while 5 vehicles with bogus registration number plates were also impounded in various police stations.
Islamabad Police also recovered looted items worth hundreds of thousands of rupees. Police also recovered five vehicles, two motorbike, 472 bottles of liquor, 3.6 kilograms of hashish, 1.050 kilograms of opium, 35 pistols, nine rifles, two Kalashnikovs, mobile phone and fake currency worth millions of rupees from 230 nabbed persons. Islamabad Police also apprehended 370 beggars during this period.
IGP Sikandar Hayat has said that Islamabad Police are committed to provide protection to citizens and ensure foolproof security. This responsibility would be professionally accomplished in future with same zeal and zest.
