Peshawar: Gang of killers, extortionists busted
PESHAWAR: The Swabi Police have busted a gang involved in target killings and extortion cases, said District Police Officer (DPO) Sajjad Khan on Monday.
The DPO said the network, busted on Sunday, was affiliated with the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan and its members confessed to a number of target killings in the district.“Those arrested have also confessed to carrying out operations in Nowshera and Charsadda districts. The extortion money was transferred to North Waziristan,” said the DPO.
He said a crackdown is underway for arrest of more members of the gang. The members of the gang confessed to killing of a notable from Dagai, Umara Khan, and a teacher Fazal Sher. He said the arrested men were also involved in a blast near the hujra of Wazir Mohammad, and killing of elders of the Mohmand Amn Lashkar.
