Islamabad: 110 suspects arrested during search operation
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police had devised a comprehensive plan for search and combing operation in Afghan and slum areas of the city to arrest suspects and those illegally staying in the city.
The plan had been chalked out following the directions from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Sikandar Hayat. The main purpose of the operation is to arrest suspects and criminal elements staying in these areas.
Police teams headed by SDPO Shehzad Town ASP Rana Tahir and SDPO Rural DSP Malik Tahir Mehmood along with SHOs of different police stations, police Commandoes and 250 policemen on Sunday conducted search operation in Shakrial, Zia Masjid and Changar Colony, Rawat, in the jurisdiction of Sihala and Shehzad Town police stations.
These police teams arrested 110 suspects and recovered 40 motorbikes, 4 cars, 2 computers, 150 bottles of wine, two 30 bore pistols with ammunition, Charas and heroine from them.
SP Investigation Muhammad Ilyas also directed all heads of police stations to continue this operation and ensure protection to the lives and property of the citizens besides ensuring arrest of mischievous elements.
