Mardan: Man booked for hurling threats at cop
MARDAN: The police registered a case against a person who allegedly hurled threats at the station house officer (SHO) of Takhtbhai Police Station and demanded extortion money from him.
Sources said that one Noor Kamal rang up the Takhtbhai Police Station and introduced himself to the muharrir as the principal staff officer to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa inspector general of police. The sources added later the Takhtbhai Police Station SHO Shah Mumtaz Khan phoned on that number and the accused made threats against him. They said the police registered the case against the accused on the complaint of Shah Mumtaz Khan under sections 386, 387,186, 189, 506, 419, 420, 385, 170 and 27 Telegraph Act.
Meanwhile, the police registered cases against two persons who allegedly kidnapped a student of grade 9th from school at gunpoint in the limits of Garhi Kapura Police Station. Essaul Haq, a student of class 9th of Government High School, Gumbat, submitted the application with the police alleging that Majid and Waqas, residents of Gumbat, forcibly took him away from school as they wanted to sexually assault him.
