Rawalpindi: ANF arrests 4 Nigerian smugglers
RAWALPINDI: Anti–Narcotics Force (ANF) has busted an international gang of drug peddlers with arrest of four Nigerians, besides recovering a huge quantity of Hashish during an operation in Karachi.
The arrested members of international drug gang included Obasuyi, Abbas and Lawal, sons of Ologunro, and Abdul Gaffar, son of Abagi, informed ANF Headquarter spokesman on Monday with addition that the force of also seized 3.5 tons of Charas from Dado Zai, Kallat.
Similarly, 11 operations were conducted in different localities of the country arresting the drug smugglers and recovering narcotics, he added. According to him, the force on a tip-off carried out two operations against West African Drug Suppliers in Islamabad and Karachi and rounded up four international drug peddlers. Heroin weighing 704 grams was recovered from the possession. Cases were filed against the detainees while further investigation was under way, he told.
On the other hand, ANF Quetta on information seized 3.5 tons Charas from Dado Zai, Kalat. The consignment was placed in a deserted hut away from inhabited area. The drugs were intended for transportation to Karachi via Hub on clearance of route. Two operations at Benazir Bhutto International Islamabad Airport (BBIIAP) and Jinnah International Airport Karachi led to arrest of two smugglers identified as Muhammad Akhram and Rana Mehmood having ingested heroin filed capsules in their stomachs, the spokesman said.
