Islamabad: 147 absconders arrested during last month
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police have nabbed 147 absconders involved in heinous crimes during last month in its special crackdown against outlaws, a police spokesman said.
Inspector General of Police Islamabad Sikandar Hayat has assigned the task to all police officials to ensure arrest of proclaimed offenders and inform his office on the daily basis about success in this special crackdown. He also directed all SDPOs and SHOs to launch massive crackdown against proclaimed offenders and court absconders.
A total of 147 absconders including 66 proclaimed offenders and 81 court absconders have been apprehended during last month.
According to details, City Zone arrested 24 proclaimed offenders, 21 court absconders, while Saddar Zone apprehended 25 proclaimed offenders, 29 court absconders. Similarly, Industrial Area Zone nabbed 7 proclaimed offenders, 10 court absconders, while Rural Zone nabbed 11 proclaimed offenders, 20 court absconders nabbed during this period.
Meanwhile, during the same period, Islamabad Police have arrested 27 culprits involved in crime of dacoity, murder, robbery, car theft and recovered stolen items worth Rs3,555,500 from their possession.
IGP Islamabad Sikandar Hayat has issued directions to make this campaign further effective as the performance of police stations in–charges would be further reviewed soon in this regard.
He said that no one is above the law and arrest of those being at large after their involvement in crime of heinous nature should be ensured for the safety of lives and property of the citizens. He warned the police officials that sluggish attitude in this regard would not be tolerated. The IGP vowed to continue efforts for effective policing and make police department service–oriented in real manner.
