Karachi: 86 more suspects held in raids
KARACHI: Rangers and police arrested another 86 suspected criminals, including proclaimed offenders and extortionists, during raids across the city on Wednesday.
A spokesman said paramilitary soldiers conducted raids in Landhi Town, Abidabad, Baldia Town, Old Golimar, KPT Flats, Bheempura, Haroon Royal City in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Liaquatabad, Jahanabad, Madina Colony in Baldia Town, Banaras and Muhammadpuri in Orangi Town. Snap–checking was also carried out at Pakistan Chowk.
The swoops resulted in the arrest of 19 alleged hardened criminals, including Lyari gangsters and target killers affiliated with a political party. Weapons were said to have been found on the suspects.
Meanwhile, the East Range police claimed rounding up 25 criminals, including four absconders. The West Range police said they picked up 40 criminals, including 15 proclaimed offenders and absconders. Separately, two allegedly extortionists were arrested by the Iqbal Market police.
