Karachi: LEAs nab 58 suspects across city
KARACHI: As many as 58 suspects including political workers and target killers were taken into custody by law enforcers during the ongoing targeted–operation on Monday.
In the first happening, district east police detained around 21 criminals in separate raids. The officials also recovered a Kalashnikov, eight TT pistols and drugs from their possession.
In another episode, district west police held around 19 criminals during various targeted raids and operations. Weapons including one repeater, four TT pistols and drugs were recovered from the custody of suspects.
Similarly, police nabbed three Lyari gangsters during an exchange of fire in Khajoor Bazaar within the jurisdiction of Kharadaar police station. The accused were identified as Farhan alias Indian, Nadeem and Mohammad Irfan. SHO Idrees Bangash said that the arrests were made when police on a tip-off conducted a raid at the said place, where an encounter ensued, resulting in the arrests.
He also claimed to have recovered two hand grenades and a TT pistol. SHO said that the suspects belong to Lyari gangster Wasiullah Lakho’s group, adding that the accused were involved in target killing, extortion and robbery.
Moreover, Pakistan Rangers Sindh apprehended around 15 hardened criminals including political workers during separate targeted operations in different areas, including, Ranchore lane, Karimabad, PIB Colony, Landhi 36, Mehran Town, Bilal Colony, Al-Siraj Square, Frontier Colony and Liaquatabad No 2. Snap checking was also carried out in different parts of the city.
