Extortionist arrested in Hangu
HANGU: The police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested an extortionist fleecing the people in the name of Taliban. A police official Azmat Bangash said that one Hashim Khan, a resident of Darbar village, complained to the police that a man had been threatening him with dire consequences if he didn’t pay the extortion.
The extortionist pretended to be Taliban fighter had been sending him threatening letters, he quoted the complainant as saying. Taking a note of the complaint, SHO said, the police finally traced the accused identified as Usman Ghani. The police booked him under sections 385, 386 and 507 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
