Karachi: 16 more suspects rounded up in raids
KARACHI: Rangers arrested 16 alleged criminals, including gangsters, target killers and extortionists, during raids conducted in different parts of the city on Wednesday.
A spokesman for the paramilitary force said raids were conducted on the hideouts of Lyari–based gangsters in Lyari’s Saifi Lane. The raid resulted in the arrests of three notorious gangsters with M-16 rifles and sub–machine guns.
Another raid in the Natha Khan area resulted in the arrests of two target killers – Pervez Bangash and Liaquat Bangash alias China – affiliated with a political party. The accused are said to be involved in numerous cases of target killings, extortion and drug peddling.
Earlier, raids were carried out in the localities of Al-Falah, Muhammadi Goth, Shah Faisal Colony No 5, Rafah-e–Aam Society, Jatt Lines, Jodia Bazar, Raja Tanveer Colony, Ittehad Town, Baghdadi and Chakiwara.
Eleven hardened criminals, including target killers and extortionists affiliated with a political party, were arrested with walkie–talkies, satellite phones and weapons, including sub–machine guns.
