Islamabad: Afghan dacoits gang busted in capital
ISLAMABAD: Shalimar Police Islamabad has busted a gang of dacoits and recovered weapons, cash and looted valuables from their possession, the police spokesman said on Thursday.
Upon receiving complaints, SP (Saddar) Jamil Hashmi constituted a team to hunt down the gangsters active in federal capital, the police spokesman said. He said that the teams made out all efforts to trace these dacoits and finally busted an Afghan gang involved in armed dacoities and highway robberies. The gang members have been identified as Faiz, Karim alias Mashoor having Afghan nationality and others as Sher Dil, Sohail alias Babu, Hussain alias Pehlwan, Haq Nawaz and Sher Muhammad.
Police team also recovered four pistols, laptop, camera, wristwatches and cash from their possession. Sohail alias Babu and Karim are proclaimed offenders and already wanted to Ramana police in dacoity and theft cases.
They have confessed their involvement in 12 cases of dacoities in Ramna and Margalla Police area while further investigation is underway from them.
