Foreign currency seized in Torkham
LANDIKOTAL: A bid to smuggle a huge amount of foreign currency from Afghanistan was foiled at Michini checkpost near Torkham border, official sources said.
The sources said the security forces recovered 50,000 US dollars, 0.5 million Saudi riyals and Rs0.2 million from the luggage of three passengers during routine checking. The currency was being smuggled to Peshawar. The three accused, who were Afghan nationals, were identified as Sher Jan, Durrani and Mohammad Jan.
