Injured Afghan dacoit held in Okara
OKARA: The police on Saturday night arrested an Afghan dacoit in injured condition who was trying to flee along with his accomplices here.
The dacoits, who were later identified as Afghans, were trying to cut the locks of a jeweller shop in the main bazaar, Renala Khurd, when the market’s watchman Zubair saw them and informed the local police, which rushed to the spot.
The dacoits tried to flee on a vehicle, which overturned on GT Road. Later, all the dacoits fled except one who had sustained injuries. The police arrested the dacoit and shifted him to a hospital.
Later, DPO Babar Bakht Qureshi while talking to media told that the gang consisted of Afghan nationals who were used to loot gold shops at Faisalabad and Chichawatni. He said that a lock cutter and foreign and Pakistani SIMS were recovered from the vehicle of the dacoits. The Renala Khurd police have registered a case.
