ANF seizes heroin worth Rs593 million at Karachi
ISLAMABAD: The Anti–Narcotics Force (ANF) seized heroin worth Rs593 million at the Pakistan International Container Terminal (PICT) at Karachi Seaport.
The ANF Karachi Seaport Team confiscated a container at the PICT in Karachi and recovered 85 kilograms of fine quality heroin, said a press release here on Thursday. The container was loaded with 3,000 crates of oranges destined for Malaysia.
Heroin was placed in 17 crates, each having five kilograms of drug-packs concealed as packing material. The concealment was quite deceptive due to placement of drugs in only 17 crates out of 3,000, as well as similarity of packing material for the whole consignment. In this case two persons have been arrested.
