Kidnappers’ gang busted in Abbottabad
ABBOTTABAD: The police in a successful raid in Havelian arrested a gang of five criminals, including one woman, who were allegedly involved in kidnapping for ransom cases.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Havelian, Arif Javed, told reporters that Adeel, a student of 10th grade, resident of Bhalwai village, was kidnapped by unidentified persons a few days back. He said the kidnappers demanded Rs10 million ransom from the family for the release of the student.
Adeel was shifted to Sindh and his family paid Rs5.6 million to the kidnappers for his safe recovery, he said. He added that the police traced the bank records and an amount of Rs3 million was transferred to an accused Mst Sultana in Haripur. He said the police arrested the five accused from different places.
