Islamabad: Former army man, son held on human trafficking charges
ISLAMABAD: The Anti Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) has arrested a retired army officer and his son allegedly involved in human trafficking and recovered passports and extorted money from their possession on Tuesday, the AHTC spokesman said.
AHTC Deputy Director Nasrullah Gondal, when contacted by this correspondent, said that after receiving complaints against Colonel (r) Faheem-ud-Din Mir and his son Muhammad Hussain Mir about their involvement in human trafficking and extorting money from naive people, he constituted a team to investigate the issue.
The team collected solid proves regarding their involvement in illegal trade of human trafficking. Finally, he, along with a team, conducted a raid on his office and recovered 4 passports and Rs500,000 in cash extorted from different people for sending them abroad.
Meanwhile, the team arrested Muhammad Hussain Mir, son of Colonel (r) Faheem-ud-Din, while travelling to Australia on fake and tampered with travel documents. The AHTC has registered a case and started investigation.
