Karachi: ‘LeJ militant’ arrested with 10kg explosives
KARACHI: A suspected member of a banned sectarian outfit was arrested by the police from Saddar and explosives seized from him.
Preedy police claimed to have arrested Mohammed Moosa associated with the Lashkar–e-Jhangvi (LeJ) from near the Express Market gate. Police had received the information about his presence in the area and went to the spot. When the suspect saw the policemen, he started running but the cops caught him and took him to the police station.
A bag in possession of the suspect was also seized. Ten kilograms explosives, detonator wire, a large amount of ball bearings, 1kg metal shards and a small cylinder were found in the bag.
During interrogation, the suspect told the police that he had come to Saddar to meet some associates. They were planning to blow up a government building or some official. The man is a resident of Hub Chowki area of Balochistan. He is wanted by the Quetta police in sectarian killing and recent terrorist attacks in Quetta.
