Karachi: 55 more suspects rounded up in raids
KARACHI: Law enforcers arrested 55 people on Tuesday allegedly involved in target killing, extortion and terrorism during raids in several areas of Karachi.
A Rangers spokesperson said the officials had been informed about the presence of 10 terrorists and target killers after which raids were carried out in Landhi No 6, Baldia Town, Ittehad Town, Bihar Colony, Pathan Colony, Fareed Colony, Singo Lane and Nayabad. The arrested suspects included members of criminal and terrorist groups. A number of weapons, including submachine guns, light machine guns, and explosives, including a suicide jacket, ball bombs, walkie–talkie sets and hand grenades, were also seized.
Meanwhile, the West Range police also claimed to have arrested 45 suspects. Around 16 pistols, 50 bullets, 2,385g hashish, 49g heroin, cell phones and two motorcycles were also seized.
