Karachi: Bank looters ‘held’ without cash
KARACHI: Police claimed to have arrested the suspects who looted Rs8 million from a local bank branch at Block 16, FB Area on Friday.
Police said the bank security guard of a private company, Hawks Way, namely Rehmat Sameer with his five accomplices looted money from the bank and escaped.
Police chased them and managed to arrest five accused persons after a raid in Orangi Town but unable to recover the looted amount. The culprits revealed that their other comrades took away the looted amount to Peshawar. Police claimed to have dispatched a team of police to Peshawar for the recovery of the looted money. Police said there was not any proper office of the security company located in Karachi as the company mainly operates from its head office in Peshawar.
Meanwhile, Karachi Police claimed to have arrested 91 suspects in 88 raids across the City here on Friday. It said the police had carried out the raids at some 88 places while six encounters also took place in which some 91 alleged criminals were arrested including three extortionists.
