KARACHI: Rangers have busted a gang of criminals who defrauded citizens by impersonating as army and police officials. A spokesperson for the paramilitary force said on Sunday that complaints were received from Abbas Town that three men, two of them pretending to be army majors and the third a policeman, were minting money from the families of arrested suspects for the release of their loved ones. PESHAWAR: Foiling a major terrorism bid, the police recovered two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and a suicide jacket in Chamkani, officials said on Sunday. An official said the bomb disposal unit (BDU) experts were called after two suspicious sacks were found abandoned on the roadside near the Shahpur police post in Chamkani.
