Islamabad: FIA arrests 2 on tax evasion charges
ISLAMABAD: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested country manager and financial controller of HP Company, a computer manufacturing firm, in a tax fraud case amounting to billions of rupees after Inland Revenue Directorate of FBR pointed out the misappropriation.
A director level officer of FIA deputed at the headquarters said that both the high-ups of the company had been arrested and a case of tax fraud had been registered after Directorate General (Intelligence & Investigation) Inland Revenue reported to the agency that some persons were involved in a tax fraud of billions of rupees.
The official said that the accused Shahid Ali Khan and Salim Raza Roujani of HP Company had been arrested and they were allegedly involved in tax evasion with the connivance of distributors of the company.
The official said that further investigations were under way.
