Lahore: 2 human traffickers arrested by FIA
LAHORE: FIA, Anti Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) on Tuesday arrested two accused allegedly involved in illegal business of human smuggling and recovered 14 passports , said Director FIA Punjab Dr.Usman Anwar while addressing a Press conference at his office.
He said that accused were running an illegal Travel and Tour Agency and manager and owner were arrested on the spot with 14 passports of different people from the office premises during raid. He said that a team of FIA AHTC raided at the office of Al-Sadiq Travel and Tours and arrested proprietor Abdul Sattar and Manager Ali on alleged involvement of human trafficking in the name of tour operator.
FIA initiated action on receipt of complaints from different people who complained that accused persons extorted huge money from them in pretext of sending them to Saudi Arabia for Umra and on work visa. Director said that to eliminate the human smuggling and corruption two units have been established within the agency including Immigration and Vigilance Unit and Internal Accountability Unit. He said that the incumbent government as well the Interior Minister and DG FIA have pledged to implement zero tolerance policy against the human smugglers and corruption.
