Karachi: Gang of fake currency distributors held
KARACHI: Three men allegedly involved in distributing and printing fake currency notes were arrested on Sunday. Frere Hall ASP Shehla Qureshi claimed to have arrested a group of fake currency distributers and also seized fake currency notes, chemicals, note–making plates and other tools of making the notes.
Addressing a press conference at her office, she said the police organised a raid in the Cantt Station area and apprehended the leader of the group, Ali Muhammad Malkani, with his two accomplices Abdur Rehman and Sajid Ghulam Haider.
The men used the “double money” trick to fool people in Karachi and in different areas of Punjab. Recently a man in Karachi had sold his hotel and gave the group Rs2.7 million for doubling the money.
DIG South Zone Abdul Khaliq Sheikh has announced appreciation certificates and cash rewards for the policemen involved in the raid.
