CIA arrests 190 outlaws in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad Police has arrested 190 outlaws during the current year for their alleged involvement in murder, kidnapping, robbery and theft incidents besides recovering looted items worth Rs11.8 million from them, the police spokesman said on Tuesday.
AIG (Operations) Sultan Azam Temuri assigned the task to SP (Investigation) Jameel Ahmed Hashmi for prompt action against criminals involved in crime incidents in various areas. Following directions, special teams were constituted under supervision of DSP Khalid Masood Akram. These teams arrested 190 criminals during the current year for their alleged involvement in crime cases of heinous nature. A total of 58 criminals were arrested for their involvement in robberies while 31 thieves and burglars were arrested as well. Five persons were arrested for their alleged involvement in murder, kidnapping cases while 25 car and auto–thieves were also nabbed. Police teams arrested 38 persons for their alleged involvement in drug peddling activities and possessing illegal weapons besides recovering 18 pistols, 15 rifles, one SMG gun, two daggers, 45 rounds, 877 wine bottles, 950 gram hashish and 110gram heroin from them. Police also recovered looted items worth Rs11.8 million from them. The CIA police completed investigation of 78 cases and their challans were submitted to respective courts.
AIG (Operations) Sultan Azam Temuri has appreciated the overall performance of CIA police team and awarded cash prizes and commendation certificates for ASIs Muhammad Mursaleen, Ameer Sajjad and cops Anwar Muhammad, Liaqat Ali and Faisal Mehmood.
