Okara: 12 POs held in raid to arrest murder accused
OKARA: On the order of Justice Syed Mazahir Naqvi of the LHC, about 2,000 cops raided Chak 20/1RB, Renala Khurd, and arrested 12 proclaimed offenders involved in several cases.
In 2011, the police had registered a case (384/11) against Anjuman-e-Mazareen Punjab, Renala Estate president Nadeem Ashraf of 20/1RB Village, and his brothers Naeem Ashraf and Wasim Ashraf for murdering Akram alias Akri of the same village. For being declared a no-go area, the police could not take action against the accused. Babar Nadeem, the deceased’s brother, moved the LHC and demanded arrest of his brother’s killers. The LHC ordered the police to arrest the accused within three days. The policemen raided 20/1RB village, Renala Estate, to arrest the accused. However, Nadeem Ashraf managed to escape. However, the proclaimed offenders Muhammad Faisal, Yasir Bashir, Muhammad Wasim, Zafar Iqbal, Muhammad Asghar, Ghulam Mustafa, Shahadat Ali, Saleem, Ahmad Din, Ghulam Rasool, Muhammad Munir and Imran, who were living in the house of Nadeem Ashraf, were arrested.
