Rawalpindi: Rawal Town police bust 12 criminals gangs
RAWALPINDI: Rawal Town Police have claimed to have busted 12 gangs of criminals and dacoits during last two months with arrest of 39 outlaws against whom 35 FIRs were lodged in various Police Stations.
According to Superintendent Police (SP) Rawal Town, Karamat Ullah Malik, total 1452 outlaws in 1111 cases were sent behind the bars during the period. Karamat giving break up informed that total 669 cases were registered during the period against drug peddlers, bootleggers and drunkards while 675 accused were sent behind the bars.
257 cases of illegal arms were also registered while 257 persons were arrested in this connection.
4272 liquor bottles, over 88 kilograms charas, over six kg heroin and other drugs were recovered while 37 drunkards were netted during the period.
Rawal Town Police showing good performance recovered 259 pistols 30 bore, nine revolvers, two guns, 22 rifles, one kalashnikov, 3348 rounds and 11 daggers and challans against criminals were presented in courts, he said.
During the period total 35 dacoity cases were registered while 39 criminals were held and three cars, eight motorcycles, cash 335500, 50 mobile phones, one laptop, gold items, 21 pistols 30 bore, one rifle 44 bore and 103 rounds were recovered from the custody of the criminals. 61 stolen vehicles and 39 motorcycles were also recovered during two months.
Due to the efforts made by the police, now considerable reduction is being noticed especially of vehicles lifting cases, he added.
He informed that police patrolling to control crime rate has been made more effective. Among the gangs which were busted, three members of Muhammad Junaid alias Joji gang, three members of Muhammad Danial gang, three members of Alaf Bibi gang, three members of Muhammad Waseem alias Semi gang, two members of Muhammad Asif alias Bablu gang, three members of Abdul Jabbar gang, four members of Bilal Naeem gang, three members of Imtiaz gang, three members of Muhammad Saeed Butt gang, four members of Sadam Hussain gang, three members of Umar Faiz gang and four members of
Tahseen alias Lucky gangs were rounded up. Police netted 146 gamblers and registered 26 cases and recovered cash amounting to Rs 857210 and 100 mobile phones. Action in accordance with the law was also taken against kite sellers and those found involved in kite flying. 105 cases were registered during the period in this connection while 130 law violators were sent behind the bars. Police recovered 51694 kites and 998 kite flying string rolls.
The SP said that on the special directive of Regional Police Officer (RPO) Akhtar Umar Hayat Lalika and City Police Officer (CPO) Hamyoun Bashir Tarar 31 search operations were conducted and 34 foreigners were arrested and police registered 17 cases under foreigner act.
243 Proclaimed Offenders (POs) and 61 court absconders were also nabbed during the period.
