Lahore: Single arrest in triple-murder
LAHORE: Police on Monday detained a man in connection with killings of three people gunned down by six motorcyclists in Gulshan-e-Ravi area, police sources said. Police registered the triple–murder case against eight armed men and handed over the bodies to the family after the autopsy on early Monday.
“We have arrested one of the eight killers and other raids are underway,” a police investigator said. The police official declined to reveal the identity of the arrested person.
Unidentified gunmen stormed into a house in Rustam Park in Gulshan-e-Ravi late Sunday and opened indiscriminate fire on the family members.
As a result, three persons including two women were killed on the spot while a child was admitted to a hospital with serious bullet wounds. The deceased were identified as Amna Bibi, Sana Bibi, and Shahzad Ahmed. Witnesses told the police that six gunmen riding on three motorcycles forced their entry into the house of Amna Bibi and fled away after the gun attack. Initial investigations revealed that the motive behind the gun attack was old enmity. Further investigation was underway.
