Peshawar: NAB arrests ex-DPO
PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday arrested a former district police officer (DPO) of Mardan, Waqif Khan, on the charges of making huge assets disproportionate to his legal sources of income.
The NAB official told The News that the bureau arrested the former DPO for making illegal assets worth millions of rupees. The NAB communiqué issued stated the former police officer had made illegal assets during his service from 1971 to 2011 including four plazas in Sethi Town in Peshawar, making investment of Rs30 million in National Saving Scheme, owned houses at Peshawar Sadar, Hayatabad and Sethi Town. Besides, the NAB stated the accused also allegedly bought plots in Islamabad Town Peshawar and Sarbulandpura. He will be produced before the accountability court today for obtaining his physical remand.
