Rawalpindi: ANF raids stock-house of drug mafia; huge cache of narcotics recovered
RAWALPINDI: The Anti–Narcotics Force (ANF), in a breakthrough, raided a stock-house of the drug dealing mafia trafficking narcotics worldwide, and recovered a huge cache of drugs, the ANF spokesman said on Wednesday.
The ANF conducted a raid on a hideout of drug–pushers in Islamabad also and recovered heroin from the den.
The Anti–Narcotics Force conducted six operations in Rawalpindi, Turbat, Lahore, Peshawar and arrested drug smugglers and recovered a huge quantity of drugs.
In Rawalpindi, the ANF recovered 69 kilograms of heroin from a container and arrested 14 drug-pushers, including a foreigner running a drug dealing setup in Islamabad, and seized two vehicles, he said.
Following information provided by the ANF intelligence network, the ANF Rawalpindi conducted a raid on a hideout and seized a container loaded with 69 kilograms of heroin. Drugs were concealed in sport goods, including boxing gloves and punching pads. The container was destined for Ghana. Eight men were arrested and two vehicles were seized.
The ANF Rawalpindi arrested a West African, identified as Clastis from a house in Sector E-11, who was involved in supplying heroin, hashish and cocaine to young people. Two kilograms of charas was also recovered from his possession. He was running a drug supply racket in Islamabad.
The ANF Rawalpindi Airport Team intercepted a Nigerian national namely Adedokun Ayinde Adedapo at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad, who was accused of carrying heroin–filled capsules in his stomach. The accused has been shifted to the Benazir Bhutto Hospital for recovery of capsules. He was to travel to Kenya via Doha by Qatar Airways flight QR–615.
The ANF Quetta intercepted a Toyota Vigo double–cabin (without registration number) at Gwadar–Turbat Road near Baloch Chowk, District Kech, and recovered 10.5 kilograms of opium concealed in the secret cavities of the vehicle. Two accused namely Imam Bakhsh (Turbat) and Aslam (Gwadar) were arrested.
The ANF Lahore Airport Team intercepted Altaf Hussain, a resident of Rawalpindi (dual nationality holder), at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, and recovered 420 grams of heroin (brown) concealed in pipes of his trolley bag. He was to travel to London by Flight Number 757.
The ANF Peshawar intercepted Hidayatullah Khan, hailing from Rabat, Lower Dir, at Bacha Khan International Airport, Peshawar, and recovered 900 grams of amphetamine concealed in his handbag. He was scheduled to leave Peshawar for Jeddah by Shaheen International Airlines flight NL–721. Cases have been registered in ANF police stations and further investigation is under process.
